ACCEPTANCE OF PATIENTS
Home health care was never meant to replace the loving care of family and friends and cannot take the primary responsibility for a patient’s safety in the home setting. Home care works best in situations where there are supportive family and friends and, if the patient cannot be left safely in the home alone, they are a must.
Acceptance of individuals who require medical home care services is based on a reasonable expectation that the agency can adequately meet the individual’s medical, nursing and psychological needs in their home.
We may accept you or your loved one as a patient when the following conditions are met:
The patient is safe to be in the home alone or has a caregiver who provides care when the agency is not in the home.
The patient is under the care of a physician who will order the medical care needed.
The patient is in need of the requested care and our agency staff is available to provide that care.
The patient has medical, nursing and psychological needs that can adequately be met by the agency in the home setting.
The house and setting are maintained in a manner that is safe for both the patient and the agency staff.
An appropriate payer source is identified.
Advantage also provides non-medical home care services including: live-in companion, sleep-over and homemaker. Please contact one of our locations listed and speak with a nursing supervisor to determine what care is appropriate.
